There is not much that will scare these old bones. I have been around too long, regularly confirmed by the team here at The Ghostly World of Jonathan Harker, who are at great pains to keep saying are you still here?
Well your Willoughby is feeling very apprehensive about the next haunted assignment and rightly so. I have promised not to reveal its exact location for I think you will respect and understand that the owners want to restrict access to the house and land around it. It appears that on this ghost hunt this most haunted of places is a real hot bed of paranormal activity. We're talking the lot here, poltergeist, apparitions, evp, physical attacks and worse of all the prospect of demons. I know, I ask myself why I agreed to this most haunted of places.
I can tell you we are heading into mid Wales to a historic haunted house and grounds. It is a house where devil worship, witchcraft and goodness what took place. Oh Gawd!
Rural setting, mid Wales.
Building – Moor Hall built around 1530, built to defend. Clearly a defensive design. Single entrance. Four foot thick walls. Stout wooden doors. House has been extended in 1600's. Restored to how it looked in the 1640's in places.
Garden totally walled in, extensive, claustrophobic, spooky, and shadowy and still this evening.
Atmosphere the moment you step in the place it is foreboding. Pictures on the wall of the great and the bad with eyes that follow you around no matter where you stand. Ambience feels still and heavy.
Morgan, owner, showing me around, clearly nervous makes me feel apprehensive. He keeps breaking off in conversation thinking he's heard someone shouting in the distance. I'm not hearing anything.
Hallways and landings seem to be home to wandering ghosts I'm told. Torches dim many times on this haunt as do main house lights, very creepy when it keeps happening.
Morgan leads me to the North side of house, up to bedroom far left, end of landing. Light flickering. Morgan says electrics tested no fault, no normal explanation for why this happens.
Distinct feeling all the time of being watched! Morgan pauses a moment before opening door, he tells me a lot of activity happens in here. We enter room...
(At this point of the investigation no record of anything captured on machine. The recorder is running. No sound being picked up. Ed's notes).
(Recording started again once out of room - at this stage Willoughby had no idea that the machine wasn't recording in the room - starts to record again outside room. Ed's notes).
Certainly a noticeable heaviness in that room, even though empty of furniture. Must check out about portals, this room is said to contain one. Threatening place to stay in.
Doors rattle in their casements when you pass them. Scary and really weird. I move quickly pass them when it happens. Heart misses a beat. Horrible feeling of being watched. Feel the need to run. Morgan looks unsure, don't feel confident about this place. We are heading for one of the bathrooms.
Cold, white, a bit Victorian what I can see of the fixtures. Deep sinks, taps like faucets. We are switching to torchlight Morgan tells me the light bulb keeps blowing in here. Reflective sound, tiled everywhere. 3 panel folding screen free standing near wall. Whoa!!! Taps have turned on! BHell! Taps have been turned on! No one near them. How? Turned on, the word hot and cold on the head of the taps turned. I know they were set right when I saw them a moment ago. Whoa! Scary, made me jump. Morgan says they are playing with us!
They!!!
LATER
There's a discussion as to whether we should go up into the attic, small narrow passageway leading to door. Stairs beyond up to attic. Heart racing, apprehension building all the time. Never felt like this at other places. Everywhere you go in this place it reeks of a haunted building. Convinced that paranormal activity takes place here. Torches fade again. Morgan looks back to me it's almost as if he silently asks are you sure about this.
Big room, horribly dark and foreboding. Hammer Horror set, no question... Gawd my mind, it's going into overdrive at coming across vampires any second. Frightening, just aware any second something is going to happen.
Morgan telling me details, if it wasn't for me recording this; I would not remember it all? Witchcraft took place here as well as other parts of the house. Psychics will not come up to this room.
I'm aware of noises around us. Shadows move within shadows, horrible, puts you on edge; want to leave room, but...what was that, it sounds like horses hooves outside fading in and out. Morgan can't hear it, must be on recording.
I swear the sensation of someone shouting in my ear, Get Out, is with me. It's horrible the pressure from it. Morgan asks if I am OK to continue. He's shuffling around. I feel very detached from him up here, as if he's up to something. When he calls me over to look at the insignia and evidence of foul atrocities that took place here I feel always there is something at the back of his mind.
Gawd! Catching glimpses of warped shadows in corner of my eye. Another temperature drop now...
Morgan looks more confident, not nervous not like when downstairs. I feel petrified, cold and shaking. I've got to trust him and yet I don't know what he's up to. I got to go! Get out of this place! I just don’t trust things it's a trap!!!
(Ed's notes) – From what we can make out on the recording it seems Willoughby ran from the room. He sounds in a panic. Morgan can be heard certainly concerned about Willoughby's frantic escape. In a terrible sounding accident, Willoughby fell down the attic stairs and although very shaken and sustaining a broken leg he is resting and recuperating.
The occurrence shocked and scared Morgan who along with Willoughby and the team conclude the atmosphere and anticipation of Moor Hall brought about the accident. We have all reviewed the digital recording. Willoughby and Morgan have asked us to enter an account for the website of this latest investigation. The recording is being checked for any evidence of evp.
Willoughby will be back to report on more haunted locations very soon.
