Cremation or Burial - Urn or Coffin?
Silas Crowley delves into the increasing trend towards having a say in where his remains will reside.
Keepsake pendant
Imaginative and artful glass urn cremation pendants are an artistic and inventive way to display cremated remains. There are many styles available and a popular way to create keepsake jewellery.

A cremation memorial urn holds the ashes of a dearly departed loved one. Be that human or pet the urn can be housed in a columbarium, direct burial or kept at home. If you are to scatter the ashes an urn can be used as a permanent memorial piece. The urn does not have to hold the ashes but could house a special memento, a lock of hair, photograph or something that is special to you and your family.

Many families choose urns that reflect their loved one’s personality and become a dignified final resting place following funeral service and cremation.
Marble and Stone holds the ashes for centuries. The material keeps much cooler and keeps the ashes in better condition.
Metals are durable materials; if you are planning to inter your loved one in a cemetery, bronze may be the best choice for burial urns. Brass is a very workable material and some of the engravings available are exceptional. You may want a delicate looking cloisonné vase, this is normally made from copper and hand painted – enamelled.
Glass urns are a very attractive option, most are hand blown, usually with vivid and distinctive patterns.
There are many designs of wood urns, the look and feel of a good hardwood is something that only this material can give, rich warm colours that will age over time.
A cremation urn is a memorial or tribute to a loved one, it’s a remembrance or celebration, “as unique as the life it celebrates”. Next COFFINS
